Lowlands is our collection inspired by the Dutch landscape. Robust knitwear in which texture, protection and character take centre stage. Crafted from wool that grows amidst wind, rain and open countryside.
At The Knitwit Stable, a product doesn’t start with the design, but with the material. We research various Dutch wool types, looking at factors such as breed, fibre fineness, selection and composition. Because not all wool is the same. Every fibre has its own character and application.
Drawing on this knowledge and experience, we develop yarns, knitwear, blankets and other woollen products. In our own knitting studio on the farm in Baambrugge, material development, design and production come together. Here, we explore how Dutch wool can be shown to its best advantage and create small batches of products: from the fibre in the field to the knit against the skin.
